Fascinating Dong Rui
In recent years, Dong Rui commune is more known on the tourist map of Quang Ninh thanks to attractive destinations such as Mangrove forests, Long Vang Cape … Besides, Dong Rui has also famous specialties, such as sea crabs, fish, sea duck eggs.

At present, Dong Rui commune has more than 2,000 hectares of mangroves, which is very convenient for localities to promote the development of ecotourism. Mangroves in Dong Rui not only help to regulate the atmosphere, but also the “green wall” protecting the coast, sea dykes, limiting erosion, the impact of floods and storms, together with great marine resources for the local people here. The tidal flats of Dong Rui have many kinds of seafood, such as vang, clams, peanut-worm, shrimp, fish … and that is the main source of income of the people in the commune. Mrs. Dang Thi Mat, a resident of Dong Rui commune, said: “Before now, there was no policy to put the mangroves into an ecotourism area, the consciousness of people in conservation is very poor. Now, besides seeing the benefits of protecting the forest is the protection of the main aquatic resources to earn themselves, while also exploiting the tourism, so people are more aware of not cutting down trees. Locals also have a sense of environmental protection, not to throw waste indiscriminately to affect the growth of plants and marine species.”
In Dong Rui, there is Long Vang cape located about 4 km from the mainland with an area of over 20 hectares. Visitors can go from Dong Rui or can come from Mui Chua port to go to Long Vang cape. After taking the boat, visitors go about 15 minutes to arrive, but many people still choose when the tide down to walk here to feel the discovery of the wild nature. Long Vang cape has a long sandy beach, blue sea water. Especially, these sandy beaches have not had much impact of human beings, so they still retain the pristine inherited beauty. With 2 sand banks stretching over 3 km, with blue sea water, Long Vang is an ideal beach. The banks are mangrove ecosystems with mainly aegiceras and bruguiera, which are the ideal shelter for many birds such as storks, blackbirds, turtle-doves, … and mollusk species living under forest canopy of the mangroves.
Peaceful Ngoa Van Pagoda
Ngoa Van pagoda on Mount Bao Dai, Dong Trieu Town – the first place of the Truc Lam Yen Tu sect entering nirvana, has for many years become the place where the footsteps of Buddhists and visitors head. Come here, everyone wants to find the peace in soul.
In the early days of this fall, visitors often choose to Ngoa Van with a one-way cable car, then walk along the road that the ancient King-Buddha Tran Nhan Tong went along the Am Tra stream to go to a place on the back of mountain called Thong Dan.
The name Thong Dan was explained by the ancient times, this was a forest of only pines. Come here, visitors are free with the sky and forests under the canopy of ancient pine trees in the mountainous wind. Since ancient times, the monks have chosen this place for funeral after death.
Just like in the Yen Tu (Uong Bi city), Thong Dan area has a very characteristic feature, which is the architectural block of a grave of the Zen masters located between two tall spruce trees. According to the concept of the East, the spruce is a sacred tree, capable of absorbing the spirit of sky and earth, the meditation under the spruce will increase the ability of each Zen master.
According to recent research documents, Thong Dan was a large scale forest on a large area of three distinct floors with paving and surrounding stones. Over time, along with the devastation of nature and human beings, Thong Dan has turned into a messy rock and the roots of spines. The centuries-old pine trees that remain here are evidence of a period of natural history, the sacred, spiritual and special spirituality. At present, there are only a few of the ancient pine trees in front and behind the ancient tower garden.
To go to Ngoa Van Pagoda – Truc Lam Sanctuary in the area of the special monument Tran Dynasty in Dong Trieu, there are two roads: 2.1 km long cable car and road. Road trip to Bao Dai mountain is shorter, but because of the steep slope, visitors are often in the jungle watching streams, cascades, green forests, romantic and majestic nature. Travel by cable car, visitors can experience and enjoy the natural scenery of the mountains from above.
